What is an Orientation Leader?
Orientation Leaders (OLs) serve as student ambassadors for the Loyola University Chicago Orientation (LUCO). They are representatives of Loyola University Chicago and New Student Programs. They are instrumental in assisting first year and transfer students and their families as they transition to academic and student life at Loyola University Chicago.
Orientation Leader Responsibilities & Outcomes
- Learn how to build community among groups of new students and fellow OLs through engaging activities, discussion, and knowledge-sharing.
- Assist in programmatic support, such as session development, check-in and crowd flow support, and much more.
- Become a leader and role model to new students - help them define what the Loyola experience means to them.
- Hourly pay rate & free housing in a Loyola residence hall.
Application Process
The Orientation Leader application is released on Handshake every fall semester. Qualified candidates will advance forward to the interview process beginning at the end of January. The interview process consists of a group (collaborative) interview at the end of January/beginning of February and individual interviews beginning mid-February. Team decisions will be communicated before spring break.
